Food With Altitude

The two most favourite things people loves are travelling and food. Travelling long haul distances can be exhausting and can make you very hungry. However to make your journey comfortable airlines from all over the world cater to satisfy your hunger at 35,000ft up in the air. On busy holiday seasons more than 8 million passengers fly per day.

At any given time over 5000 aircrafts are in the air serving passengers a whole selection of meals from Japanese cuisine, Thai cuisine, continental food or Indian food. Delivering these meals on time can be a daunting task.

Everyday 450 chefs from Emirates Airlines kitchen prepare 1500 different menu items in the Emirates kitchen, which is then put into food carts, labelled with aircraft number and destination.  These chefs are very expert at their job preparing special meals from halal, vegetarian and kosher meals for passengers to enjoy from all over the world.
