Oriental Food

Oriental Food

In our earlier post, we gave a brief explanation of continental foods. Today we are going to talk about oriental foods. What is an oriental food? Well, foods which are made from the Asian parts are called oriental foods. Oriental food is widely known as Asian cuisine. This cuisine is divided into many regions like east Asian, South Asian and south-east Asian cuisine.

Basically, east Asian foods are from China, modern Japan and Korea. South Asian foods are from the major part of India and some part of Bangladesh, Pakistan, Srilanka. South east compasses to Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore and Philippines. Compare to continental food this food is spicier. Asian people tend to eat spicier food than European people. Countries which offer continental food does not differ much from region to region. However, asian cuisines differ from region to region. Suppose if we take south-east Asian and east Asian cuisines, we can see south Asians use rice noodles but east Asians use alkaline wheat noodles. Yet, they use as much spice as they can in their foods. They use tropical foods for making desserts.

In my opinion, thai food outweighs in terms of spice and taste. Thai food has a unique style of cooking with a variety of aromatic components. My friend Daniel has highlighted Thai food specifically in his own blog. I would like to recommend the readers to have a look at his post to know more about the cuisine. Adding more to the context, Indian cuisine includes a wide variety of regions because of the different group of ethnicity, occupation, climate etc. They use a lot of oil and spices in their foods. They use a lot of chilli pepper as well. Furthermore, the popular spices in the indian cuisine are turmeric, cumin, saffron and cardamom. Top indian foods are biriyani, palak paneer, channa daal etc.

I have presented a glimpse idea of the oriental food. Please wait for more of our foodies' blogs. Thank you for reading.
